For Culture Night, Cathal Ahern will perform alongside pianist Con Diamond. Together, the duo will present a varied programme of jazz standards and jazz-infused pop covers, blending a range of influences in a performance that crosses genres while celebrating their shared love of jazz.

CELLO GUISES with Aongus

Aongus is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Donegal, combining classical, folk, traditional Irish and electronic music to create a sound uniquely his own. He has performed at Spike Cello Festival, All Together Now, Other Side Festival and Electric Picnic, and has collaborated, recorded and performed with artists including Briana Corrigan of The Beautiful South, Niamh Bury, Kíla, Danu and members of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and RSNO orchestras.

Simon Morgan

Simon Morgan is one of Ireland’s most versatile singers, performing across opera, theatre and contemporary music. He has appeared at major venues including the National Concert Hall and Cork Opera House and collaborates widely as a composer and arranger.

Shauna Buckingham

Irish soprano Shauna Buckingham is a Dublin native who graduated with first-class honours from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. A versatile opera singer, she has performed across opera and special events and appeared on The X Factor, Eurosong and The All Ireland Talent Show, reaching the semi-finals. Her repertoire spans Pop, Folk and Opera, from Mozart to Adele and Mary Black.

MICK MCNAMARA AND CLAIRE SHERRY

Mick McNamara

Singer/guitarist Mick McNamara is a founding member of The Dixie Micks and plays regularly with We Banjo Three and Tupelo. He has performed with Mumford & Sons and Hans Zimmer and is renowned for his vast repertoire, ranging from popular ballads and folk songs to contemporary material, delivered with the passion and gusto for which he is well known. We look forward to Mick’s unique energy on the Artscope Culture Night Trail!

Claire Sherry

Dublin-born Claire Sherry is an accomplished player who excels at a wide range of traditional instruments, including banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, tin whistle and viola. She has performed all over the world and is a highly regarded and sought-after music teacher and session musician. Claire will collaborate with a number of performers for this year’s Artscope Culture Night Trail.

The Dixie Micks

The Dixie Micks are an acclaimed Irish live band formed at the Dixie Bar in Morzine, France. For over 15 years, they have energised global audiences with a high-octane blend of traditional reels, folk songs and contemporary favourites. The line-up for Culture Night features Mick McNamara on lead vocals, guitar and bodhrán, Paul Kelly on fiddle and mandolin, and Alan Doherty on flute, whistles, percussion and backing vocals. Join members of The Dixie Micks and special guests to bring Culture Night to a lively finale!
